TraxContracting Group

Project — April 2026

Belhaven

Beeler Farms Lane, Knoxville, TN  //  Client: D.R. Horton

Scope of Work

Belhaven is a 60-acre single-family community off Beeler Farms Lane in north Knox County, being developed into 127 home sites for D.R. Horton. Trax Contracting Group is the civil subcontractor on the project, carrying the full sitework scope from the first cut on raw ground through a complete underground utility network and the community amenities, on a production builder's schedule.

Rough and final grading

Trax crews established the preliminary elevations and contours across the full site, setting the drainage patterns and overall topography that every downstream trade depends on. Final grading then brought all 127 lots, the streets, and the site improvements to exact finished elevation, so pads drain properly and D.R. Horton's framing crews can start the day a lot is released. Lot work continues into Phase 2 with basement cuts, foundation grades, and temporary stone drives for each home.

Sanitary sewer, storm, and water

Every lot at Belhaven needs a full set of wet utilities before a house can go up. Trax trenched, bedded, and installed the gravity sewer system serving the subdivision, holding grade, achieving watertight joints, and testing every run before backfill. The storm drainage system of pipe, inlets, and outfall structures was sequenced with the grading program to keep a 60-acre site functional and compliant through construction. The water distribution main, service laterals, and appurtenances were pressure tested and inspected to utility and health department requirements before the trenches were closed.

Erosion control

A site this size disturbs well over an acre, so erosion and sediment controls stay in place and maintained through every phase until the lots are stabilized and sold.

Playground and amenities

The civil scope at Belhaven does not stop at the lot line. Trax also delivered the community's recreational area, assembling and installing the play structures, safety surfacing, and fall zone protection to the applicable safety standards, so D.R. Horton hands residents a finished amenity on day one.
