Project — June 2026
Cedar Lane, Knoxville, TN // Client: George W. Reagan Company
Scope of Work
Life Church is building a new worship center on its Cedar Lane campus in north Knoxville. Trax Contracting Group is the civil subcontractor to George W. Reagan Company, the general contractor, self-performing the sitework package from erosion control and demolition through earthwork and the underground utilities that serve the new building.
Trax mobilized in late June 2026 and installed silt fence and construction entrances before any ground was disturbed, then walked the perimeter to confirm no gaps in the erosion control. Demolition of the existing asphalt paving followed, with sediment and debris hauled off site.
Topsoil was stripped and stockpiled, then the building pad and surrounding site were cut and filled to design grade with compaction tested along the way. Trax ran the grading from a machine-control model built from the engineer's plans, and topsoil was placed back on the finished slopes at the end of the earthwork phase.
The storm scope covers 140 linear feet of 12-inch HDPE, three precast area drains, and a headwall at the outfall. Trax also excavated the pervious paver area and placed the number 2 stone base and geotextile fabric it sits on.
Trax installed the 6-inch and 4-inch sanitary sewer with a new tap to the public main and cleanouts, then the 6-inch ductile iron fire line and the 2-inch domestic water service to the new building, including the taps on the existing main. All utility work was tested and inspected before backfill.
Life Church is the kind of tight, active campus where sequencing matters: the church stayed open through construction, so erosion control, demolition, and utilities were phased to keep access clear. Trax delivers civil sitework for commercial general contractors across Knox County and East Tennessee, from clearing and demolition through mass grading, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water, and erosion control.
